Media Library
You can upload and manage files to WordPress using the Media Library.
Course content uploaded via Tin Canny is also in your Media Library. Be careful not to delete course content though the Media Library.
Navigating the Media Library
To access the Media Library, navigate to Platform Tools > Media Library.
You can switch between list-view and grid-view by clicking the icons at the upper left of the screen, immediately below the Media Library page title.
To find a specific image or file, use the Search media items... field at the upper right, or narrow the selection using the Filter options below the Add New button.
Adding Items
Select the Add New button next to the page title.
Either:
Drag and drop the file into the box provided.
Select the Select Files button and locate the file on your computer from the window provided.
Once you’ve added an image to the Media Library, it’s available to add to your pages.
For best results, name your files with dashes (‘-’) instead of spaces or underlines, and do not use any characters with accents (ex: ä, è, ê) or special characters (%, ^, /, *, etc.).
Image Sizes
Images should be 1MB or less. SVGS are infinitely expandable so their sizes do not matter.
In addition to your image dimensions, file size is also important. This is because images contribute to the size of page when your visitors load it, and the more they need to download, the slower the page will be.
As a general rule, the smaller the images are, the better!
There are two things you can do to keep file sizes manageable:
Ensure the image is the recommended dimensions for the space it’s intended for
Optimize the image before uploading it to your Media Manager
