Content Block Guide

Throughout the admin, you will see the Gutenberg Editor, which allows you to add sections to pages, courses, and more.

Adding Content Blocks

Any page with the Gutenberg Editor has a builder area on the page. When it’s empty, it looks like this:

An empty content block.

If it has blocks added inside it already, it might look something like this:

To add new content,

  1. Select the ++ button or double-click below the last block.

  2. You’ll be presented with a host of options for content blocks. See the Contact Block Reference for details on each content block. You can also select Browse all to see all of the blocks available to you.

Content Block options.
  1. Pick your block and fill in the fields in as outlined in the help text.

  2. You can click outside of the blocks to contract them (and clicking them again will expand them).

  3. You can also rearrange blocks by selecting the blocks, dragging and dropping them, or using the arrow keys presented.

Accordion

The accordion block creates expandable/collapsible drawers, and it works great for FAQs. You can add as many as you’d like.

The block has an optional heading (e.g., “FAQs”).

The FAQs are added like rows in a table. To start, click the Add Row button. As you add your rows of FAQs, you will see the ability to insert FAQs and remove them by clicking on the plus and minus signs to the right.

The Heading is your question, Text is your answer.

The Banner block should always appear first on the page. You can technically reorder it, but your page will look very weird and sad on the front-end. 😢

CTA

A Call-To-Action block, or CTA block, is a prominent way to drive users to a different page on the site (e.g., to the contact page) so it should be used for major actions you’d like a user to take on a page. It consists of a heading, short description, and a button. You also have the option to change the background colour as desired!

Feature

The Feature block can be used to showcase an image or video. You choose which by selecting either IMAGE or VIDEO from the Media Type dropdown.

For images, simply upload your image, add some complementary text, and choose whether the image should appear to the right or left of the text, and choose whether you’d like to add a button.

Form

Forms are created using the Gravity Forms plugin. See Forms for more information about creating forms. Once you have a form created, you can embed it on a page using the Form block. You can add a heading, then simply select your form from the dropdown.

There is also an optional field called Anchor ID. This is used if you’d like to anchor link to your form. Simply add whatever text you’d like here (one word only). For example, “contact.”

Text

The Text block is your standard place for text. You can also add images and other content in these blocks.
